English: The near 18:7 resonance pattern of Pallas with Jupiter only marches clockwise. It never halts and reverses course (i.e. librates). It shows the motion of Pallas in a rotating frame with a period equal to Jupiter's orbital period. (Jupiter is held basically stationary.) Jupiter (rotating frame) is the yellow ellipse at 10 o'clock, Mars is orange, the Earth-moon system is the blue and white. The orbit of Pallas is green if it is above the ecliptic, and red if it is below.
Italiano: L'animazione illustra la risonanza prossima a 18:7 di Pallade con Giove. Il moto di Pallade è mostratato in un sistema di riferimento rotante, con origine nel Sole (il punto centrale) e con periodo pari al periodo orbitale di Giove. Di conseguenza, la posizione di Giove rimane per lo più stazionaria, rappresentata dall'ellisse rosa in alto a sinistra. Sono inoltre rappresentati il moto di Marte in arancione e del sistema Terra-Luna, in blu e bianco. Il moto di Pallade è verde quando sopra l'eclittica e rosso al di sotto di essa. Il fenomeno di risonanza procede in senso orario, non si verificano interruzioni, né inversioni (ovvero, non ci sono librazioni). |
