Mersin İdmanyurdu (MİY) participated in Second League 1992-93 season for the 19th time. Starting from this year the league has been played in two stages. MİY started league with championship claim but couldn't promote. The team also participated in Turkish Cup (Türkiye Kupası) in 1992–93 and eliminated at Round 1.

1992–93 league participation

Mersin İdmanyurdu took place in Group 3 in Second League 1992–93 season. League had been played in two stages. In the first stage 55 teams in five groups (three with 11 teams, two with 10 teams) fişghted for top two places. Top two teams of ranking groups (10 teams) had consisted promotion group. At the end of the second stage top three teams of promotion group promoted to First League 1993–94. Remaining teams in each ranking group played in relegation groups. Bottom three teams relegated to Third League 1993–94 at the end of the season.[1]

Mersin İdmanyurdu took place in Group 3 consisted of 10 teams and finished first stage at second place. In promotion group team finished 5th and couldn't promote. Head coach Kadri Aytaç resigned before the season finished, and was replaced by Nasır Belci for the remaining four matches.

Düzce Kervan Doğsanspor moved to Mudurnu and merged with Mudurnuspor after Stage 1 and changed its name to Mudurnuspor.[3]
